Commitment to Transparency

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is committed to accountability through transparency and fiduciary responsibility. We ensure Academy members have regular and timely access to information for a firm understanding of the Academy's operations and its ongoing strategic direction.

To help meet the Academy's commitment to transparency, the Board communicates its actions, decisions, news, programs and initiatives to its members through a variety of channels (e.g. News Center on eatrightPRO.org, in social media, in Eat Right Weekly and other email communications, through Academy dietetic practice groups and member interest groups, etc.). and seeks stakeholders' input and feedback on the Academy's programs and processes. In addition to Bylaws and Policies; the Strategic Plan; Board, President and CEO reports; updates from Committees and the House of Delegates; Public Policy Priorities and Nominations and Elections, the following documents are made available to all Academy members:

The Board of Directors recognizes that strategic deliberations and documents often cannot be made public during their formative and deliberative stages. For example, confidentiality must be respected on a case-by-case basis pertaining to specific contractual agreements, litigation and other interactions that potentially would violate legal agreements.
