A strong leadership culture centered around collaboration, innovation and respect helps ensure that the Academy has the direction and resources needed to move the organization and profession forward.

The Academy is led by a diverse board of passionate leaders committed to delivering positive impact to its members and the nutrition and dietetics community worldwide. The Board of Directors oversees the strategic direction, budget, guidelines and policies of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Many decisions are informed by the work of Academy committees—groups of Academy members working together to collectively to address issues of importance to the organization. All committees establish goals for each program year. The goals are designed to support the Academy's strategic plan and are shared with the Board of Directors on a yearly basis.

The House of Delegates serves as a voice of Academy members and identifies and develops solutions to some of the challenges facing the profession.
