Private Insurance
Private health insurance refers to health insurance from private insurance companies that may be secured through an employee benefits package or purchased directly through a broker or the federal health insurance marketplace (Affordable Care Act plans).
Private insurance companies don’t sell “one policy.” Each company offers a variety of policies and products to individuals or employers and may customize them to suit client needs. Therefore, nutrition and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) coverage varies across the country, from company to company and policy to policy.
