Since September 2023, the board of directors for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has undertaken a series of discussions evaluating the current state and future direction for the Academy. These discussions have been instrumental in reigniting the Academy’s core purpose and bringing it forward toward a new future vision.

The strategic plan serves as a roadmap for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, guiding our efforts to make a significant impact in the field of food and nutrition, improve global health and well-being, address key challenges, and promote inclusivity, diversity, equity and access.

Access resources to assist nutrition and dietetics practitioners in meeting the needs of all clients and colleagues with the goal of improving equity and access for everyone.

Collaborations play a crucial role in supporting the our mission, and Academy Alliances are part of a powerful collaboration platform that can amplify our impact, bring about meaningful change and create a healthier world. 

From its award-winning science journal, books and publications to webinars, online courses and the world's largest annual meeting of nutrition professionals, the Academy provides professional development offerings to support the continuous growth and learning.

The Academy's advocacy efforts are centered on public policy priorities such as improving nutrition education, advocating for access to healthy food, promoting evidence-based guidelines, and addressing health disparities.

The research priorities of the Academy include investigating dietary interventions, exploring the impact of nutrition on chronic diseases, advancing evidence-based practice, studying nutrition disparities, and identifying innovative approaches to enhance population health and well-being.
