For the first time in its history, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has released policy statements and evidence-informed rationales for each of the organization's focus areas. The statements support the strategic plan and expand the influence and reach of the organization and the nutrition and dietetics profession with compelling evidence.
More than 70 Academy members across various practice areas contributed to the development and review of the statements and rationales as they served on four President’s Strategic Advancement Groups that examined evidence and impacts of the profession for: Well-Being and Prevention; Nutrition Care and Health Systems; Nutrition Security and Food Safety; and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access.
Past Academy President Kevin Sauer spearheaded the transformative groups and oversaw the appointment of member experts who volunteered. The statements and supporting rationale outlined in the President’s Strategic Advancement Groups Report will be instrumental in shaping the Academy’s future policy and advocacy efforts.
