Embedding IDEA through Cultural Transformation

Last spring, following the Academy's newly updated Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Philosophy, the Board of Directors prioritized transforming our organizational and professional culture, to ensure these principles will result in greater equity and inclusion in the dietetics profession.
 
Specifically, the Academy and its IDEA Committee will focus on these objectives over the next three years:

  1. Strengthening Practices: Implementing initiatives that align closely with the IDEA Action Plan to ensure that our efforts are not only ambitious, but also actionable and impactful.
  2. Enhancing Organizational Culture: Fostering an environment where IDEA principles are deeply embedded in every aspect of our operations, creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all members.
  3. Advancing Long-Term Impact: Developing and supporting strategies that will yield lasting positive change and strengthen our commitment to IDEA across the Academy and the profession.

To this end, the IDEA grants program has been suspended in order to allocate the resources necessary to operationalize the principles outlined in the IDEA Action Plan.
 
The Board deeply appreciates the support of and collaboration with the IDEA Committee as, together, we create a more inclusive and equitable organization that truly reflects the shared values of its community.
