Academy Resources Empower Members to Provide Evidence-Based Care

Published January 10, 2025

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the foundation of nutrition and dietetics care. The Academy offers members tools and resources to incorporate EBP into their work to improve practice, as well as client and patient outcomes:

  • Evidence Analysis Library (EAL)® – the EAL is an online repository of evidence-based recommendations, guidelines and answers to nutrition questions based on scientific evidence. Dozens of clinical nutrition- and food-related topics are addressed, including recently updated resources on Vegetarian Nutrition, Hypertension, and Type 1 diabetes.
  • Recommendation Prioritization Tool – implementing guidelines can be intimidating when they contain multiple recommendations, but some recommendations might be able to be implemented right away. The Recommendation Prioritization Tool helps practitioners evaluate and prioritize which recommendations can be used right away and which may be able to be implemented in the future.
  • Implementation Science Manual – created by the Council on Research Implementation Subcommittee, the Implementing Evidence: from Guidelines to Daily Practice manual can help practitioners bridge the gap between research guidelines and daily nutrition and dietetics practice. This easy-to-read tool breaks down the steps for implementation, provides definitions and references, and supplies questions to use for tailored planning in your own practice.

These resources are a benefit of Academy membership to help elevate your nutrition and dietetics practice.
