The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has changed the world, and its impact on nutrition and dietetics is still unfolding. The COVID-19 pandemic will likely evolve into an endemic, with the looming prediction that another virus can come and have similar impact on the world.

Attention is turning to what pre-COVID-19 practices should be resumed, what temporary practices should be permanently adopted, and what new practices might be established moving forward. Economic, racial, and other forms of pre-pandemic inequality that were exposed and exacerbated by the pandemic will continue to
worsen without action to address them.
