The Academy’s National Honors and Awards recognize those who have advanced the profession, exhibited leadership and shown devotion to serving others. Intent to nominate submissions are due by January 15, 2025, and the deadline to submit complete nominations are due March 1, 2025.
To prepare for these upcoming deadlines, we recommend compiling key documents in advance:
- Cover Letter: This is your chance to present qualified candidates to the Honors Committee. Describe the person you’re nominating, highlighting their background, experience and unique skills that make them stand out as an applicant.
- Letters of Support: Gather three to five letters of support from individuals such as colleagues or DPG/MIG members who can share stories about your nominee, displaying their expertise and qualifications for the award. Be sure to reach out in advance for timely and thoughtful responses.
- CV or Resume: Ahead of submission deadlines, ensure your nominee’s curriculum vitae or resume is up to date and no more than 25 pages long.
- Work Samples: If applicable, supporting materials that demonstrate your nominee’s work related to the award qualifications can strengthen your submission.
Gathering these documents in advance will make the submission process a breeze. Need more guidance? Review this PDF of 10 helpful tips, plus a checklist to guide you through the process.
