America's Health Insurance Plans, known as AHIP, is the national association whose members provide health care coverage, services and solutions to hundreds of millions of Americans every day. AHIP is committed to driving the innovation needed to create a more equitable, affordable and sustainable health care system that allows every American to access the best possible care and live the healthiest possible life. Their mission is to “advance a vibrant, private-public health care system that promotes consumer choice, product flexibility, and innovation.”

As an AHIP Associate Affiliate Member, the Academy is dedicated to enhancing the quality of care delivered by RDNs within health care payer networks.

The Academy is committed to collaborating with other AHIP members to drive significant improvements in the health care landscape, which involves advocating for a system that recognizes the pivotal role of RDNs in advancing health and managing chronic diseases through nutrition and lifestyle interventions. Additionally, the Academy strives to ensure fair and equitable compensation for the valuable services provided by RDNs.
