Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to Honor Eight Members with Medallion Awards in Recognition of Service to Academy and Profession

CHICAGO – The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will present the 2024 Medallion Awards during the 2024 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo® in Minneapolis, Minn., October 5-8.

The Medallion Awards have honored Academy members every year since 1976 for their dedication to the high standards of the nutrition and dietetics profession through active participation, leadership and devotion to serving others in nutrition and dietetics, as well as allied health fields.

The 2024 Medallion Award honorees are:

Lucille Beseler, MS, RDN, LDN, CDCES, FAND; Boca Raton, Fla.
Beseler, an Academy member since 1986, is a past Academy president and is the CEO and president of the Family Nutrition Center of South Florida.

Karen Collins, MS, RDN, CDN, FAND; Bemus Point, N.Y.
Collins, an Academy member since 1978, is the senior nutrition advisor for the American Institute for Cancer Research.

Eileen Ford, MS, RDN, FAND; Media, Penn.
Ford, an Academy member since 1979, is the clinical research administrative manager at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Carol Gilmore, MS, RD, LD, FADA, FAND; Lawrence, Kan.
Gilmore, an Academy member since 1971, is the scope and standards of practice specialist for the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Mary Roseman; PhD, MBA, RDN; Nicholasville, Ky.
Roseman, an Academy member since 1978, is professor emeritus of Nutrition and Hospitality Management at the University of Mississippi.

Carrie Swift, MS, RDN, BC-ADM, CDCES, FADCES; Richland, Wash.
Swift, an Academy member since 1987, is the diabetes care and education specialist at the Kadlec Medical Center.

Christopher Taylor, PhD, RDN, LD, FAND; Columbus, Ohio
Taylor, an Academy member since 1996, is the director of Medical Dietetics and professor at The Ohio State University.

Barbara Wakeen, MA, RDN, LD, CD, CCFP, CCHP; North Canton, Ohio
Wakeen, an Academy member since 1981, is the founder of Correctional Nutrition Consultants, Ltd.
